Rafts and Reins 2007

A group of seven girls from Tulip Trace are headed to Fayetteville, WV to whitewater raft and ride horses. Read their blog, and share in their adventure.

Day One, Sunday July 22, 2007

Welcome to our journal of our trip this week.  We’ll be sending pictures and tales of our adventures each day.  Today was as short day.  We did a lot of get to know you activities, and planned our meals for the trip.  For today’s posting, all the girls wrote a few sentences to summarize what we did today – we’ll have more tomorrow as we take on the high ropes course.

“The journey began today as we played a series of difficult and challenging games in the field   Soon later, we ate a delicious lunch of Hot Diggity Dogs and Hamburgers  Ummy!  Then we tested out teamwork skills on the Low Ropes Course, now we can trust one another very well!  I am looking forward to the whitewater rafting! “ - Leigh

“Hollar - We did the low ropes course  It was my 3rd time, and it was fun!  We did a trusting game and that was my fav.  Nobody fell!!!!  We grilled out today.”

“Hi!  I am having fun today and we played lots of games.  Some of the games were challenging, and some of them were weird at first.”

“Today was fun, once I got here I got to help everyone to the cabin.  I helped introducing everyone and enjoyed the low ropes course we did.  I can’t wait to go horseback riding.  I love to ride!” - Juli

“I am looking forward to whitewater rafting. It sounds like fun.  Today we did some of the low ropes course.  It was hard, but very fun and worthwhile.”

“Today was very fun!  I had a tasty burger for lunch and played on the ropes course, I met lots of new people, including Duck!  I am looking forward to the trip.”  - Claire

“Today we did the Low Ropes course and learned the value of teamwork.  We had a delicious lunch consisting of hamburgers and hotdogs and chips.  I hope the rest of the trip is this fun!”

Check tomorrow to see what the girls do on the High Ropes Course at the Belmont Preserve and Outdoor Education Center.
