Summer 2008 Adventure Trips

Did you miss out on all the fun during the adventure trips last summer?  We will be offering 5 exciting adventure trips for the summer of 2008 – here is preview of that is to come….watch the mail in January for dates and times.  We hope to see you this summer!

Roller Coasters 101

Have you ever wondered how a roller coaster is able to go around all those loops and the passengers don’t fall out?  How does a roller coaster take a 90 degree plunge and still stay on the track?  These are some very good questions, and the best way to figure out the why is to ride the roller coasters!  We’ll be taking a trip to several local amusement parks to ride some of the best coasters in the country.  In between the rides we will be learning from engineers who build and design roller coasters as to why they work the way they do.

This trip will be a great way for girls to have a great time while learning some cool science.

Wander Wisconsin

Want to sail the pristine waters of Wisconsin?  Enjoy some fresh Bratwurst? Or mountain bike a wooded trail? These are just some of the cool adventures participants can enjoy while wandering Wisconson.  A few days will be spent at a camp near Milwaukee where the activities will iinclude mountain biking and sailing.  Another day will be spent exploring the many sights of Milwaukee (a trip to the zoo, a baseball game, take in a museum). Participants will help decide the activities!

Meet Me in St Louis

Not much of a “camper?” Enjoy a leisurley hike, but aren’t a hard core back packer?  Then here is a great trip; a trip to the shores of the Mississippi River and the home of the Gateway Arch.  Activities could include a tour of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, a trip to the top of the arch, and even a tour on a riverboat.  Other possible activities could include a major league baseball game and other sights of St. Louis.  Participants will help plan the itinenary.  It will be an awesome adventure!

Rafts and Reins (Fayetteville, WV)

Discover the beauty and challenge of West Virginia by trying out a variety of high adventure sports including rafting and horseback riding.  Rafting will take place in the New River and the participants can experience the class III and IV rapids.  After a day on the river participants will hit the trail and let horses do the walking through the New River gorge and experiencing the beautiful vista.  There will also be some days for relaxing and short day hikes.  It will be a trip filled with memories of a lifetime!
